Teaching Art at a Christian school gives me the opportunity as an evangelical teacher to fully explore and promote Biblical Christianity! Easter is arguably the most important time of the year for Christians.
The first day of Holy Week, (the days that led up to Christs death and subsequent resurrection) is called "Palm Sunday". Palm Sunday is also referred to as "The Triumphant Entry" when Jesus, while riding on a donkey, was hailed as the King He is by the people in Jerusalem. They waved palm branches (a sign of peace), and called out, "Hosanna" (which means "Save us"). This weeks project was a painted paper donkey and palm branches to commemorate that triumphant entry.
I read two wonderful books to each of the classes while they accomplished their projects.
