This month, our work celebrated a lesser known artist, Sonia DeLaunay. She was a pioneer of abstract art and is best known for popularizing the use of "Concentric Circles". However, she and her husband, Robert DeLaunay, together cofounded "Orphism"; an abstract, cubist influenced painting style developed around 1912. In their work, patches of subtle and beautiful color are brought together to create harmonious compositions.
