It's The Year of the Dragon!

It's the year of the Dragon! This month we learned about the Chinese New Year culture, food, traditions, beliefs and birthdays!

Using a method called, "directed line drawing" the students created these incredible "Dragon Lanterns" traditionally used on the last day of the Chinese New Year at the Lantern Festival!

This year, instead of creating a Valentine's Day project, we learned about Chinese New Year! It is the year of the Dragon, and to celebrate, we created an incredible "Dragon Lantern"! We learned about their food, religious beliefs, what they traditionally do each of the 15 days of their New Year, and how their birthdays are celebrated! This was, by far, the most popular project I have taught so far! They were SO excited!
